This three day 220 mile cross peninsula trip is our favorite. The breathtaking vistas, gnarly roads, and otherworldly Ranchero families will stay with you forever.
You will get to see unique terrain ranging from arid desert landscapes to towering Baja mountains and lush oasis points. On each trip we become closer with the many remote Ranchero families that make a humble but proud living here.
There are many remote ranches in the mountains of Baja Sur, most of which have been in the same families for 200 to 300 years since the days of the Jesuit Missions. The Baja Rancheros live a truly different life based on self reliance, integrity, community and faith.
This three day trip captures the best highlights of the people and terrain of this region, and includes a variety of "hidden gems" from Mulege to La Purisima and San Juanico.

First Day
Morning orientation, vehicle and tire inspection. A two-hour climb into the Guadalupe mountains to the first "coffee stop" with a rancher. Midway across the peninsula we'll have a ranch tour & lunch stop. Later afternoon arrive at camping/lodging with dinner at a top local restaurant.

Second Day
Early prearranged breakfast, followed by a sand dune beach drive, then on to La Purisima for a guided hiking tour of basalt formations and the old oasis, or a 4x4 trip to San Miguel de Comondu. Afternoon kayaking or relaxing by the river. Stay in prearranged lodging/camping and later enjoy a cookout at the campground.

Third Day
Start the day with organized breakfast. Early morning hike or kayak. Drive to the next ranch. Share stories and have lunch with the rancher. A few hour drive to the next stop. Coffee break with a rancher. Continue on to the final destination. Optional pre arranged dinner at a restaurant.
